Efi Xanthou is a political scientist and entrepreneur. She has been an activist since her student years, with extensive involvement in various NGOs and grassroots movements, and an active political figure since 2002. She was a member of the Political Committee of the Cyprus Greens – Citizens’ Cooperation from 2004 to 2022 and served as a parliamentary associate of its parliamentary group from 2009 to 2023. She resigned from the Greens and, in December 2024, was elected a member of the Political Committee of VOLT Cyprus.
Her political interests are broad, but she is particularly focused on environmental protection, human rights advocacy, combating corruption and collusion, and promoting digital transformation.
She was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1981, repatriated to Cyprus at the age of nine, and has lived in Nicosia ever since. She holds a degree in Political Sciences from the University of Cyprus and an MBA from the Cyprus International Institute of Management (now the University of Limassol). She founded her company, Leap to Green Ltd, in 2024, offering consulting services and European project management services. She is married and has one 15-year-old child.
