Dust and falling rubble in a space with immunosuppressed patients. Water leaks and disruption to families who are already going through the most difficult period of their lives.

The meeting of Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman with the Secretary-General of the United Nations reminds us that the Cyprus Problem cannot remain in permanent stagnation. Volt believes that any substantial initiative to resume talks is a positive development and must be utilised with seriousness and strategic consistency.

Volt condemns in the strongest terms the provocative bill submitted by US Congressman Randy Fine, which envisages the annexation of Greenland and its incorporation as a state of the United States.
3 January 2026 - Unilateral attack against Venezuela
Volt Cyprus condemns the United States’ unilateral attack on Venezuela as a clear breach of international law and a violation of the country’s sovereignty. Such actions raise serious concerns about civilian casualties and represent an unnecessary and dangerous escalation of violence by the United States.

Volt strongly condemns the recent military incursion seemingly carried out by the State of Israel into the sovereign territory of the State of Qatar. We express our deep concern at this serious escalation and condemn all shelling of civilians and destruction of infrastructure. This attack comes in violation of the good faith in the ongoing negotiations with Hamas for a ceasefire and the return of all hostages.

Volt expresses its deep concern about the recent developments in the case of the five Greek Cypriots, that is clearly politically motivated, and their illegal detention, with the current detention of the Turkish Cypriot lawyer. Innocent citizens have been caught up in a political confrontation, a result of the long-standing non-resolution of the Cyprus problem.

As the new school year approaches, thousands of parents are faced with the high cost of school supplies. According to research by the Cyprus Consumers Association, the “Student’s Basket” shows price increases and significant differences in prices. Notably, in stationery items, increases of up to 38% have been observed, while the total cost for a family with two children can exceed €300–400 just for basic items.

July 26, 2025 - Citizens Deserve Answers
Two of our fellow human beings have been lost. We once again express our sincere condolences to their families and loved ones. The loss of lives due to State failure is the primary and most serious issue—they were not a “collateral loss” or an “unfortunate incident.” We thank all the volunteers, individuals, firefighters, and organized groups who have shown that love for Cyprus does not allow for divisions.
16 July 2025 - Another Oil Spill in the Sea of Limassol
For the second time this year—and many times overall—our seas have suffered the consequences of mismanagement of local infrastructure and the indifference of responsible authorities. A serious oil spill occurred at Pentakomo beach yesterday, with swimmers emerging disgusted from the water and demanding answers.
