12 January 2025 - Tragic negligence or incompetence?
Volt is following with concern the revelations surrounding the murder of a 24-year-old from Pakistan. This incident adds to a series of cases related to inadequacy, incompetence and corruption, seriously damaging the prestige and credibility of the Force in the eyes of public opinion.

For this reason, a full investigation and justice is required. The Minister of Justice and the Chief of Police must come out publicly and give convincing answers to all the reasonable questions raised around this case, instead of hiding and avoiding their responsibilities. How is it possible that the medical examiner did not detect the bullet wound in the lifeless body of the 24-year-old? Why did it take four days for the autopsy to be performed and the real cause of death to be revealed? How did the bullet hit the young man's right shoulder blade, while the police claim that they shot the tires of the vehicles? How was the body found in a parking lot in Acropolis? Who transported it there and why?
We demand:
An immediate and independent investigation of the incident by third parties, so that all those involved can be held accountable.
The punishment of those who knew, remained silent or contributed to the cover-up of this crime.
A substantial reform of the security forces, with zero tolerance for such practices.
Finally, the question arises whether this is a case of tragic negligence and incompetence on the part of the police and the medical examiner or a deliberate attempt to cover up the case, as allegedly happened in the case of Thanasis Nicolaou. The appointment of a criminal investigator for the death of the young Pakistani by the Attorney General, who comes from the ranks of the Legal Service, does not fully ensure the independence and objectivity of the criminal investigation.
The Police investigate themselves. The victim cannot defend himself. We all owe it to ourselves, so that there are no other similar victims. The truth must be exposed.
