Violation of ceasfire in Lebanon
Only a few hours after the announcement of the temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran—brokered through Pakistan and which, according to the Pakistani Prime Minister, applied “everywhere, including Lebanon”—Israel launched one of the largest waves of airstrikes against Lebanon, causing the death of hundreds of civilians, including children.
This action, which has already been condemned by the United Nations and many European countries, constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire and undermines any prospect of regional de-escalation.
Volt reiterates that the European Union must immediately suspend the EU–Israel Association Agreement until Israel ceases to conduct war crimes and systematic violations of international law.
