13 March 2025 - Citizens do not need communications management

Citizens listened to the President's cross-channel interview and his analysis of the past year, with pleasant reports and positive narratives, but the reality they themselves experience is completely different.

We recognize that there have been steps in foreign policy, however, the real challenges that citizens experience in their daily lives, such as the cost of living, the energy crisis and the inadequacies of public administration, remain unresolved.

The reduction in VAT on electricity is considered a positive, bringing relief to citizens, but the structural problems in the energy market caused by repeated mistakes and omissions of successive governments can no longer be swept under the carpet. The disconnection of household photovoltaics continues, natural gas as an interim solution never materialised, while we remain dependent on the prices of polluting fuel oil.

On the Cyprus Problem, the President referred to goals and plans, but without a clear strategy and without presenting substantial initiatives that could break the deadlock. Citizens deserve more transparency and a clear plan for the future.

Volt presents a new political culture, based on accountability, transparency and participatory governance. Far from what the traditional political system we have become accustomed to. Citizens do not need communication management, but solutions that will truly improve their lives.

We remain a stable force, of progressive and pragmatic opposition. We do not nullify, but support everything that serves society. We are here to highlight mistakes, demand solutions and propose alternatives.

Time for action and tangible results.
