17 February 2025 - No to Sloppiness – Yes to Solutions for Artists

Studying the legislative proposal “On the Establishment of an Artists’ Registry and Artistic Sponsorship Law of 2025”, and following the public debate on the issue, Volt expresses its concern about the practical implementation and effectiveness of the proposed bill, which in its current form does not resolve the structural problems faced by art and creative industry workers.

Policies for the artistic sector must ensure the development and sustainability of the creative industry, as well as the formation of a favorable ecosystem for all artists. For Volt, this is a priority.

We want to see greater support and funding from the state through existing programs (Culture, Thymeli, etc.), tax incentives for funding culture from the private sector, and support programs for young creators who are taking their first steps. Substantial solutions that respond to the needs of local artists and that take into account the different conditions that artists face at each stage of their career, as well as the specificities of the different professional qualifications that fall under the umbrella of the artist.

The Volt Culture Committee is already consulting with arts organizations and the broader creative industry.

We invite all representatives of the cultural sector to share their views with us, so that we can co-formulate proposals for a fair and functional legislation that better expresses the needs of the artist community.
