4 February 2025 - We support the upgrading of public universities
Volt supports the creation of English-language university programs, as Public Universities will be able to attract students from different educational systems and compose a multidimensional student population.
It will be an important first step in the effort to strengthen the international reputation of our universities, which will contribute to the upgrading of education, research and innovation, equipping our graduates with the skills required by the global labor market.
The establishment and operation of public universities is a significant achievement for Cypriot society, which makes us proud.
We support its development and the continuous strengthening of its academic identity.
Education must evolve with the future of young people and the interests of society in mind, with self-confidence and extroversion in the face of fearful and introverted reactions.
In the context of the public dialogue that has begun on the occasion of the creation of English-language study programs, we ask the Public Universities for a clear plan for the implementation and operation of these programs, so as to allay any concerns.
