Sophia Vassiliou

Sofia Vasiliou is a graduate of the University of Reading with a BSc in Human Geography and Economics and holds an MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins in the United States. She has many years of experience in the field of market research, specializing in qualitative methodologies, and has collaborated with leading companies and organizations in Cyprus and abroad. She has implemented and analyzed hundreds of socio-economic and political studies, gaining a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of Cypriot society. Today, she provides consulting services in this field, both in Cyprus and internationally.

At the same time, since 2023, after specialized training in the Netherlands, she has been offering Therapeutic Yoga services to people facing health problems — cancer, neurological and chronic diseases, autoimmune diseases as well as women's health issues. Her daily contact with people who are fighting a difficult battle for their quality of life has further strengthened her empathy and her commitment to a fairer, more humane and more inclusive society.

She has served as a Nicosia municipal councilor with the EDI (2002-2007), while in 2024 she was a candidate for MEP with Volt. Today she is a member of the party’s Political Council, actively contributing to the formulation of modern, European policies based on transparency, accountability and social progress.

She envisions a country that supports every person, creates an environment of security, dignity and prosperity, invests in the future and creates opportunities for all — a vision that she also shares as a mother of two boys.
