Achilleas Karayiannis
I was born in Nicosia in 1980 and have roots in both Nicosia and Famagusta. In 2001, I went to England for a decade, where I obtained a degree in Business Administration and Psychology from Oxford Brookes University (2001-2004), a master's degree in Organisational Change at the University of Warwick (2004-2005) and a PhD in Theatre and Management at the University of Essex (2005-2009).
I started working in 2005 as a seminar assistant, mainly in the fields of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at the University of Essex, where I remained until 2011, In that year, I returned to Cyprus, where I worked at various educational institutions until 2018, including the University of Cyprus, the University of Nicosia and the European University.
From 2018 to 2023, I worked at Aston University in Birmingham, England, where I gained experience in the field of sustainability. Since then, I have been publishing regularly in this field in business magazines as well as in scienti fic and academic collections. In 2023, I returned to Cyprus and have since been working as an Assistant Professor in the field of Organisational Psychology and Sustainability at Neapolis University in Paphos.
Since December 2025, I have been a member of CAD (Cyprus Academic Dialogue), whose main purpose is to contribute to progress towards the reunification of Cyprus, which is a central theme of my candidacy for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Another key focus is my belief that Cyprus has educational needs in the areas of sustainability and the environment.
I spend my free time with the most important person in my life, my son Andreas, and I am also quite involved in football, bowling, chess and writing short articles and poems about everyday life. I have published a collection entitled "By Sight By Song".
