Alexandra Attalides has served as a Member of Parliament for Nicosia since June 2021, with a strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and the strengthening of democratic institutions. She actively participates in key Parliamentary Committees, including the Committee on Development Planning and Control of Public Expenditure, the Committee on Human Rights and Equal Opportunities for Men and Women, and the Committee on Institutions, Merit and the Commissioner for Administration (Ombudsman).
In parallel, she represents the House of Representatives in important international and European parliamentary fora. She is a member of the delegations to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Inter-Parliamentary Conference on the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), the Conference on the Future of Europe (COFE), as well as the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie.
She holds an MBA (Honours) with a specialization in European Management from Solvay Business School of the Université Libre de Bruxelles and is fluent in English and French.
Prior to her election, she served as Press Officer at the European Parliament Office in Cyprus and as Director of Communications at the University of Nicosia, gaining extensive experience in public communication and European affairs. Her political engagement is closely linked to long-standing social and political activism. She is consistently committed to the protection of human rights, gender equality, institutional transparency, environmental protection, and addressing the climate crisis. She firmly believes that a modern European Cyprus is built by active, informed, and engaged citizens. In her personal life, she enjoys the sea and the mountains, gardening and cooking, as well as books, theatre, and cinema. She is married to Michalis, mother of Konstantinos, and grandmother to Isabella and Leo—roles which, as she often notes, remind her daily why politics must serve the future.
