Alexandros Christoforou was born in 1964. He has been married to Athena for the past 40 years and has two children, Anastasia and Andreas.
After graduating from the American Academy of Larnaca, he served in the Special Forces and subsequently pursued his studies in the United States of America at Brown University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics. He has extensive professional experience in the fields of technology, construction, and business development.
He currently serves as President of the Cyprus Swimming Federation, Secretary General of the Mediterranean Swimming Confederation, and Treasurer of the Cyprus Paralympic Committee. In the past, he has served as Treasurer and Vice President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, as well as President of the Famagusta Nautical Club.
His interests focus on volunteerism, social service, sports, civil protection, first aid training, animal welfare, and the support of vulnerable groups and individuals. He serves as a volunteer officer in Civil Defence and as a first aid instructor, while also contributing on a voluntary basis, since its establishment and whenever requested, to the Larnaca Social Grocery Store.
At the same time, he is actively engaged in issues related to equality, human rights, animal protection, and the support of individuals with serious illnesses. His multifaceted social engagement and his strong commitment to serving society constitute the motivation behind his candidacy with Volt in the 2026 parliamentary elections.
