Efi Xanthou

Coordinator of the VOLT Cyprus parliamentary monitoring committee. Efi Xanthou is a political scientist and entrepreneur. She has been an activist since her student years, with extensive involvement in various NGOs and grassroots movements, and has been an active political figure since 2002. She was a member of the Political Committee of the Ecologists-Citizens' Cooperation Movement from 2004 to 2022 and a parliamentary collaborator of its parliamentary group from 2009 to 2023.

She resigned from the Movement in 2024 and in December 2024 was elected a member of the political committee of VOLT Cyprus. Her political interests are broad, but she has a particular interest in environmental protection, human rights advocacy, combating corruption and collusion, and promoting digital upgrading.

She was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1981, repatriated to Cyprus when she was 9 years old, and has been living in Nicosia ever since. She obtained a degree in Political Science from the University of Cyprus and an MBA from the Cyprus International Institute of Management (now the University of Limassol). She founded her company, Leap to Green Ltd, in 2024 and o ffers consulting and European programme management services.
