Maria Skenter is from Limassol and has dedicated her career to the management, protection and regeneration of the Cypriot countryside. She has actively contributed to European and bi-communal programmes for reforestation, environmental education and adaptation to climate change. As a member of the Parallel Parliament and the Committee on Climate Change and Clean Energy, she emphasises the need for immediate action to tackle climate change and promote sustainable rural development, with a focus on her community in Limassol.
She has scientific training in agriculture and environmental management, while her experience in administration, strategic communication and project management enables her to implement policies that link environmental protection with rural development and social welfare. She works to promote sustainable solutions and collaborates with all stakeholders to create joint actions that improve the quality of life of citizens and protect our natural wealth.
