Natasa Ioannou was born in Nicosia in 1985 and comes from the villages of Karakoumi and Kato Dikomo in the Kyrenia district. She graduated from the G.C. School of Careers and studied Biology at the University of York (BSc), before completing postgraduate studies in Marine Environmental Management (MSc) and later in Environmental Politics (MA). She has been working in the environmental field for more than ten years. She combines science and politics with a distinctly human approach, making big issues easier to understand and turning them into practical action.

Her professional journey began in London in 2010 with Coral Cay Conservation, and in 2012 she organised Let's Do It Cyprus for the first time in Cyprus through her internship at the Office of the Environmental Commissioner. Since 2012 she has worked in environmental organisations and civil society, and since 2016 she has also taught in various institutions subjects such as environmental management and sustainability. She worked in Brussels with Friends of the Earth Europe and has been actively involved as a volunteer in political youth organisations and other volunteer groups, serving in Organising Secretary roles. Her career also includes public education and awareness campaigns, as well as activism, civil society organising and mobilisation on issues of environmental justice. For her, the goal is a fairer and more sustainable tomorrow that we build together, with persistence and on the basis of Environmental Justice.
