Stelios Stylianou was born in Kato Varosi, with roots in Achna and Agia Triada Yialousa. He grew up in Episkopi Limassol and graduated from the 7th Lyceum of Limassol (now Polemidion). He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete, as well as a master's degree in Communication and New Journalism from the Open University of Cyprus. From 1997, he worked for two years in the Computer Aided Learning department at Kings College London, and in 2000 he founded the private IT and Foreign Language institutes Interactive Learning. Since 2008, he has been a permanent professor of Information Technology in Secondary Education. He is married to lawyer Alexandrina Stylianou (2010) and they have two children, Theodosis and Danae Rose.

From 2001 to 2007, he served in various positions on the Board of Directors of Nea Salamina Famagusta, and since 2009 he has been o ffering his technical services free of charge to the Larnaca rural football organisations (EPEL and the EPEL-OPN SEK-POEPA Joint Championship). Since 2016, he has been involved in the "Larnaca for Solution and Reunification" movement, and in 2020, together with other executives, he spearheaded the creation of the political party "Ammochostos for Cyprus" and later Volt Cyprus. He is a member of Volt's Political Council and chairman of the party's Larnaca District Committee. Since autumn 2025, he has been presenting the online interview programme "The Unmute Cyprus Podcast".
